Chris
O'Neill |
Chris
O'Neill is a freelance director of theatre and, most recently,
independent film. He holds a BA in the Humanities from
Providence College and an MA in Theatre Education from
Emerson College, where he was also honored with the 2004
Dean's Award for the Performing Arts for his Master's
Thesis, "The Song of Nick," a meditation on the process
of memorializing his late brother Nicholas through theatre.
Much
of this work has centered around Nicholas's original one-act
play, "They Walk Among Us," a remarkable and prescient
tale of guardian angels. This play became the basis for
Chris's first feature film, produced under his new production
label, Nicky's Counting Productions. "They Walk Among
Us" had its world premiere at the Stadium Theater on February
20, 2005 and later won the Best Screenplay Award at the
2005 Black Point Film Festival in Lake Geneva, WI.
Recent
stage directing credits include "Miracle on 34th Street,"
"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", and "A
Midsummer Night's Dream."
